An actual question, sadly enough. When it got asked I realized that I've finally made it into Dreaded Adulthood---This, and being called, "Sir." Oh, and being asked how old my grandkids are. I don't even have kids yet, so the answer is that the grandchildren are VERY young. Do I actually remember Ebbets Field? Unfortunately, not. It was being demolished just around the time I was born. And unhappily, the Brooklyn Dodgers are mythic to me.
But our myths are important---"Myth, myth! Yeth?"---and this fine hat makes sure that we get to tell the world that when they think shopping mall they should think ROOSEVELT FIELD, but when they think baseball the answer is EBBETS FIELD.
