Product Description Speedminton, the newest high-energy sport, offers fun for every age and skill level. It sets up easily indoors or out on every type of surface. Play Speedminton without a net, you can even play in the dark.
Product Description Speedminton, a new dimension in racquet sports, combines tennis, badminton, and racquetball (and is endorsed by 2006 U.S. Open Champion Maria Sharapova). Easy to learn for beginners, many advanced players enjoy the complexity involved in its mastery. This game can be played anywhere by using the dimensions of a tennis court (although you don't need a net to play). Fun and portable like badminton yet Speedminton is an aerobic and competitive sport like racquetball and a lot of fun for the whole family. Three different Speeders allow for different types of play: - Fun Speeder can be used by beginners or for recreational volleys on the beach or in a park.
- Match Speeder is for fast and competitive play.
- Night Speeder is modified so that a Speedlight can be inserted at the base.
The set includes: - Two Speedracquets made of high-quality, extruded aluminum for maximum durability
- Three Speeders made from patented, aerodynamic materials, each for a different kind of play
- Four Speedlights for up to three hours of after-dark play
- One Speedbag for carrying portability
- One Wind Ring for all-weather play
- Eight cones for court markers
How to Play Speedminton Freestyle There are no court, no rules, and no limits. From a recreational game at the beach to an exciting volley in total darkness, you can just play without keeping score. If it's windy, simply snap a wind ring onto the Speeder for added stability. Outdoor Competition Use Easy Courts to set up a game at the beach or on grassy fields. You can also use cones to turn any open space or a tennis court into two Speed Courts. Indoor Competition You can easily set up a game at any gym or indoor tennis court. No net is required--just mark your boundaries with the Easy Court or cones and you're ready to play. Night Play The Night Speeder makes it possible to play at night. Just press a Speedlight into the clear Night Speeder head to let it glow in the dark (they glow 2-3 hours). As shooting stars cross the night sky, you'll only see the Night Speeder. Rules A game is played to 16 points. Serve from the center of your playing field and players alternate service every three points. Play best-of-five to win a match.

It's ok but not something I'd look forward to playing December 5, 2008 Imbroglio98 (Horrible, Maryland) I played this at a friend's home at an afternoon get together. About the most I can say for it is that "it's something to do", on par with playing horseshoes. If I had my choice I'd much prefer to play tennis, racketball or even badminton. That said, Speedminton has the advantage of being easy to set up since you don't need a net and can use the cones provided to make your own court. But if you have any wind whatsoever the game quickly becomes unplayable (the weight ring is virtually useless). The birdies (speeders) don't last long especially if you don't hit them exactly square on the top (similar to badminton birdies). Overall, not something I'd look forward to playing as a sport, though I could tolerate it at a windless picnic.

The two Speedminton sets came on time and well packed. We won't use them until Thanksgiving, when the family gathers, but are looking forward to a fun time.

Some friends and I asked our Intramural department to purchase two sets of Speedminton. If you are not sure what Speedminton is, it is a combination of tennis, racketball, and badminton. We played for the first time two days ago and played for almost 2 hours. It was a great workout and easy to pick up if you have played any of the sports mentioned above. Yesterday, we had a few more classmates playing and we were able to play doubles. The doubles matches were not as intense as singles, but overall a great great game. The Pro Performance set is better quality than the Speedminton Bag. The Pro set comes with higher quality rackets. I would advise purchasing extra speeders. The match speeders are what we play with and have already went through one speeder.
While we were playing, numerous faculty and students asked about the game and we are spreading the word about this new fun game! Enjoy!
Speedminton for the family August 25, 2008 B. Peick (Twin Cities, MN) I purchased speedminton on the advice of a friend. I hadn't played badminton since I was a kid, but after watching the video on the Speedminton website, I was sold! And, it is as fun as it shows. My family brings it in the handy case to events, picnics, waiting for the drive-in, just hanging out at home. Great fun, and helps increase hand/eye coordination.
Awesome exercise August 22, 2008 fr33man Lots of fun and very portable. I played on a tenis court and took it with me at pinic. Playing on grass field is a bit harder without the clear field layout. Playing on tenis court seems to be easier and more enjoyable. Maybe I just need more practice. The wind ring only helps a little bit. It still doesn't work if the wind is more than just a breeze.
